I’m currently in Phoenix, AZ, doing a bit of dog sitting (that’s Jeffrey up above) and house sitting for our good friends, E & T. They’re off on vacation to England & Ireland for 2 weeks, and so I’ve made their home, in the historic Del Norte Place neighborhood in Central Phoenix, my home for a bit.
Jeffrey is a rescue dog, and doesn’t always take to strangers, so we all agreed it was best if someone he knew and likes could stay with him. I’m flying solo this week while Kyle finishes up his final days at work, and then Kyle will come out and join me on Friday. In the meantime, Jeffrey and I have been enjoying naps on the sofa, lots of walks at the park across the street, and a bit of pining for mom & dad to come home, which means lots of extra treats and extra attention for Jeffrey. If any of our Phoenix friends would like to have lunch or dinner, send me a message.
This is the first of several shorter trips that Kyle and I will take in the next 50 days before we leave on the first leg of our big trip. It’s also a chance to try out the lifestyle a bit…live out of my suitcase long term…and have a bit of peace and quiet in between periods of chaos from moving out of our house and setting up our big estate sale, which is happening later this month.
It’s also giving us an opportunity to try out something we’ve thought about incorporating into our big trip: long term house sitting. We’ll let you know how it goes over the next several weeks and we’ll be back with more regular posting starting tomorrow. Until then, enjoy a few photos of the view from here.
