It’s time again. Time for this stationary period we’ve been celebrating to end and for us to hit the road again. Our time left in ABQ is down to mere days and we’re spending lots of time soaking in the last little moments with family and friends before we start rolling again.
There are backpacks on our floor and packing lists in our heads. We’re going over travel itineraries and ideas and sorting out our plane tickets. The UPS guy has been stopping by pretty regularly as we stock up on the last few bits that we need. We’re a bit out of practice after spending 6 months in this place we call homebase. But there is still something so familiar about the packing and the planning as we get ready for year 4 on the road.
Year Four?! It’s often unbelievable to us what we’ve managed to accomplish and even more astonishing that we have managed to make this life of travel a sustainable one. But letting go of our old life and traveling has given us so many opportunities. To explore, to challenge ourselves, to fail, to learn, to succeed, to discover what is important to us in this life & then to focus on that. And to be able to focus on what is important is a true gift that we are grateful for daily.
We’ll be traveling in the US for the next several weeks, visiting a few friends. And then we’ll head down to Guatemala (via Mexico), where we’ve rented an apartment in Antigua for the summer. We’re looking forward to returning to a slower pace and exploring that town and seeing what happens. We’ve also got a few new projects we’ll be launching in the next couple of months and we can’t wait to share those with all of you.
We are teetering on the edge of the great unknown and there is nothing to match that delicious feeling of anticipation. Where everything is possible and the prospects ahead are exciting. We can’t wait to experience it all and share it with you. So expect to see more posts and new travel ideas, along with our usual Living La Vida Local stories.
Bring on Year Four!
