Nicaragua has not disappointed. We’ve been here just under two weeks and in that time we have trekked volcanoes (including 2 active ones), volcano boarded, kayaked on Lake Nicaragua, visited colonial cities and seen UNESCO sites, watched sea turtles nesting, hiked in several types of rainforest, gone spelunking, and learned to surf.
We’ve decided to forgo Costa Rica, Nica’s more expensive and more popular sister, and spend more time here instead. Next up, volcanic islands, coffee fincas, and the rainforest. And all on around $50/day not including tours. It’s safe to say that we’re developing a soft spot for Nicaragua.
