Living La Vida Local: Happy Campers in Austin

    June 25, 2015 by Kat & Kyle 6 Comments

    Happy Campers

    Happy Campers

Our first stop on the road to Guatemala is Austin, Texas. We flew into Austin last Thursday and are spending our time here visiting with good friends & soaking in the local vibe. Austin has been the tour de besties, as everyone we are visiting is someone Kat has known and loved for 20+ years. We’ll be here through the weekend soaking them in before we head out for Washington, DC and more adventures with old friends.

We’ll be back on Monday to recap our Texas BFF adventures, but wanted to share our little East Austin Happy Camper with you. We stayed in a renovated 1960’s Shasta Airflyte Camper for a few days in between visits with friends and it was so much fun. Kyle put together a little video tour for you.

P.S. We found our little camper on AirBnb. You can read more about the property here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2867059?s=Fjva

Disclaimer: We don’t work for AirBnb or Angel and are not getting any compensation for this post. We just had a great time and wanted to share it with y’all.

Wow your little camper looks like ton o’ fun!! We’re so happy you are having a great time in Austin! Jean and I are going to head out in August for a beach camping extravaganza in the PNW and then over to MN to hang out by a lake in September. Meet up with us if you are in either of those parts of the country!

Thanks, Kelly! Hope you and Jean have a fantastic time on your trip! We’ll already be in Guatemala by then. We should try and plan a meetup/trip somewhere together, maybe next year!

Thanks for sharing. The little camper is SO CUTE! It surely meets the need of a place to sleep and feel cozy.

Thanks, Heather! It was a cozy and fun spot to spend a few nights. Gave us a different perspective on Austin and allowed us to check out a new neighborhood.

      Great video!

The black spatula on the shelf above the kitchen counter looks familiar. I think I’ve had the same one for more than 15 years.

I also like the 3-in-1 coffee maker/toaster oven/griddle. I don’t drink coffee at home, but if I did, that 3-in-1 bad boy would be great! People make fun of me because I don’t have a stove top/griddle…
