{Morning hike in Saguaro National Park, about 45 minutes from my uncle’s house. Saguaros have to be at least 75 years old before they grow their first arm. That’s the Catalina Mountains in the background.}
My Dad and I spent this week visiting my uncle in Tucson, Arizona. We drove out on Monday, and we’ve all been enjoying hanging out around the house, catching up with each other, and having a few adventures. In a week where all I’ve wanted to do is hug everyone close to me, it’s been nice to hang out with family for a bit.

{It’s not a true road trip unless you have some roadside attractions. We stopped off at this gas station to see “THE THING” on our way out to Tucson. And we survived to tell the tale.}

{Spent a lot of this week hanging with this cutie, my uncle’s dog, Kenna, out on the back patio. She’s a short coat red and white Scottish Border Collie and a big ball of energy and fun.}

{Tucson is home to the Boneyard, the storage and salvage facility for all government aircraft. More than 4,400 aircraft are stored here on 4 square miles of desert. We took a tour out to see some of it, including this row of helicopters, wrapped up in latex to protect them from dust and sun. The climate in Tucson is perfect for preserving aircraft: dry dry dry with caliche clay soil, which is so hard that they don’t even need a tarmac to park on.}

{THE THING!!!! Just kidding. You’ll have to go see it for yourself.}
