{Pretty afternoon exploring San Agustin Etla. We have friends staying out here in the valley about 40 minutes from Oaxaca & have enjoyed visiting them and wandering around their town.}
It’s been a crazy two weeks here in Oaxaca. Lots of things going on, mostly of the unexpected variety, which can be both wonderful and unsettling. Luckily, our little spot in the southern part of Mexico provides an unending series of moments that let us know we’re right where we are supposed to be.

{Chocolate de Agua from the mercado in Villa de Etla. Just pure chocolate and spices, mixed with water. Luscious!}

{Fading street art provides a small window into daily life here in Oaxaca. This is us many evenings, sitting on a stool in the street while a grumpy (but friendlier each visit) woman cooks us quesadillas or memelas.}

{Shrimp tostada from our newest favorite place – Ramon Camaron}

{Birthday cake frosting! It’s a friend’s birthday today, and we have a kitchen, so I got to bake!}
Have a wonderful weekend! We’re off to visit our Spanish teacher’s home tomorrow. Looking forward to exploring a new town and cooking.
Cheers!
