{Beautiful ofrenda for Frida at Casa Azul in Mexico City}
It’s the end of October, which means my favorite time of the year in Oaxaca is here – Day of the Dead. AND to make it even better, my superamiga, Gwyneth, is here with us to celebrate! We’ve had a fun week hanging out with her in Mexico City for a few days and now back in Oaxaca, for another week of tacos, calaveres, mezcal, comparsas, panteones, facepainting, disfraces, mercados, and all the things we love about Dia de Muertos aqui en Oaxaca!

{We visited La Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe this week in Mexico City. It’s where Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin on four different occasions in December 1531. This is the imprint of the Virgin on his mantle, which they keep on display in the main church on that site.}

{Posing with one of the many Catrinas at one of the comparsas in Mexico City. This one wears the number 43 in tribute to the 43 students murdered in 2014. She is also a guy!}

{The Three Musketeers – together again!}
Have a great weekend!
