{Love is all you need. Boxy Street Art in our neighborhood}
This was a Oaxaca week. Kyle settled back into Oaxaca life and we’re happy he’s home. Lots of wandering. Lots of street food. Mezcal & markets. Parades and fireworks. And a life lived in Spanish – so much Spanish. We even journeyed out to the valley to learn how to make tamales at the home of our Spanish teacher. It’s hot here this week, in the mid 90’s. So we’ve been trying to stay cool by hiding out in cool little cafes and shady parks all week. Biding our time until the rains finally come and cool everything off. Here are a few vignettes from the week.

{Virgin painted in the hollow of a tree in one of our favorite parks here in town.}

{Sunday breakfast of Chilaquiles at one of our favorite local haunts.}

{Close up of the flower from the Mexican Flame Tree, or Flamboyante, which is blooming here in Oaxaca this week.}

{Turista Mundial – it’s the traveling version of Monopoly, where you travel the world instead of just a town – en español. Played this at our maestra’s home last weekend. This will be the next game purchased.}
