    Five Things

    {Day of the Dead is in the air. There was a little boy looking at this with uncertainty when we were there. I asked him, "Que piensas?" - what do you think - and he just looked at me all wide-eyed and then looked back at the paper mache people as if they were the scariest weirdest things he had ever seen.

    It’s my birthday week! So we’ve been celebrating all over town with coffee and pastries and cake and mezcal and tacos, and even an Oktoberfest feast at our local Spanish tapas restaurant (weird, I know). And Day of the Dead is definitely in the air. Displays are popping up around town and we saw our first marigolds and celosia (the flowers of DOTD) at the market yesterday. So many good and interesting and fun things to write about this week that it was hard to narrow it down to just five photos, but here are some favorite memories from this week.

    {One of our fave peeps is back in town. And now she's our next door neighbor too! So happy to have her back!}

    {The street art in Oaxaca never disappoints.}

    {Kyle took me on a prebirthday dinner date to the Spanish restaurant in town for tapas. But they were celebrating Oktoberfest. So we celebrated with sausage and beer on a day that was neither my birthday nor the official Oktoberfest. And it was great!}
