I’ve had a small obsession during our time in the ciudad amurallada here in Cartagena…aldabas (doorknockers)! The architecture here is amazing….loads of old buildings from the 16th & 17th century, most with huge wooden doors and amazing doorknockers.
Here is just a sampling of some of the really cool aldabas we’ve seen here.
We’ve had a fantastic time here in Cartagena. It is our favorite city so far, in a long list of places in South America that we have loved. I could spend a year just photographing the people, architecture, and scenery here.
Tomorrow, we leave for a week in the Islas de Rosario, a national park about 50 minutes off the coast. So we’ll be off the grid until August 26th. Have a great week!
